Software Engineer I

The candidate would be responsible for ongoing software development activities with internal scientific applications and incorporation of commercial applications. Day-to-day activities will include support and development of web applications, robotic instrumentation applications, SharePoint intranets, and financial systems. The candidate must be willing to work in a fast past environment. Communicate effectively with scientific staff to provide application support and necessary enhancements.
 
Qualifications

  • B. S. or equivalent in computer science or chemical engineering
  • 0-2 years of relevant industrial experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work well in a team environment
  • Display a high degree of independence and reliability

 
Required Skills

  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Web application development using ASP.NET, ADO.NET, C#, JavaScript
  • IIS web server
  • Object Oriented Design principles

 
Desired Skills

  • MS Office application development
  • Familiar with commercial scientific applications from MDL and Cambridgesoft
  • Familiar with relational databases such as Oracle, and MS SQL
